DESCRIPTION:
Naazcold suspension is the brand name for the nasal decongestant and antipyretic combination of phenylephrine, paracetamol and chlorpheniramine maleate . This combination effectively fights against common flu, allergies and breathing difficulties caused due to cold.
Phenylephrine, which is a powerful nasal decongestant, acts on the a1-adrenergic receptors that are present in the arterioles of the nasal mucosa. This drug causes vasoconstriction, which eventually decreases the edema and increases the drainage of the sinus cavities. Phenylephrine reduces the discomfort in the upper respiratory tract and eases the breathing.
Paracetamol is an antipyretic and analgesic agent, which is both safe and effective. Fever, which is highly common during cold, can be effectively suppressed with paracetamol administration. This drug is a non-aspirin pain reliever.
Chlorpheniramine maleate is a potent antihistamine. It is histamine H1 receptor antagonist with least sedating properties. This drug treats different allergic conditions such as hay fever, urticaria and upper respiratory tract hypersensitivity reaction.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
As directed by the physician
CONTRAINDICATION:
Naazcold suspension is contraindicated in patients with cardiac complications, compression of the esophagus, ulcers, stomach muscle paralysis, stomach or intestine blockage and other GI related issues.
ADVERSE EFFECTS:
Adverse effects of this medicine are dizziness, blurred vision, upset stomach, nausea, nervousness, dry mouth and mild drowsiness.
PRECAUTION:
There are no sufficient and well-controlled studies when it comes to phenylephrine and chlorpheniramine maleate administration in pregnant women and nursing mothers. Therefore, if you are pregnant or nursing, discuss with your doctor about your condition before taking this medicine.
Extra care with the dosage should be taken in patients with breathing problems, kidney diseases, liver diseases, overactive thyroid gland, urination problems, hyper blood pressure and pulmonary complications.
