COMPOSITION:

Each tablet contains Ofloxacin 200mg and Ornidazole 500mg

DESCRIPTION:

Ofrum-Oz tablet is a combination of two antibiotics. It is used in the treatment of bacterial and parasitic infections. It effectively treats many bacterial infections in the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal infections, and urinary and genital tract.

Ofrum-Oz tablet is best taken with food. Take it at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Please do not take more than the recommended dose, as it may harm your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. A treatment must be completed even if you feel better to ensure a complete recovery. Ofrum-Oz tablets work by the combined action of Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits the enzyme synthesis responsible for bacterial DNA replication. Hence, it shows the bactericidal effects. Ornidazole distracts the DNA helical structure, which interrupts the protein synthesis and ultimately leads to the death of bacteria.

DOSES:

One tablet twice daily for at least five days or as the physician recommends.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

If you are allergic to Ofloxacin, Ornidazole, or any of the ingredients of Ofrum Oz Tablets.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Most common side effects do not require medical attention and disappear as the body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you are worried about them. Common side effects of Ofrum-Oz are

• Headache
• Insomnia
• Itching
• Vaginal inflammation
• Diarrhea

PRECAUTIONS: 

Pregnancy: You should consult your doctor before using the Ofrum-Oz tablets, as there is limited information about their safety during pregnancy. Your doctor will prescribe this medicine if considered essential after assessing the benefit over risk.

Breastfeeding: Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, as no information is available on using Ofrum-Oz tablets. If you are breastfeeding, your doctor will tell you whether to use this medicine after assessing the benefits over risks.

Driving: You may feel sleepy, dizziness, visual disturbance, fits, body stiffness, and loss of consciousness while taking the Ofrum-Oz tablets; hence, avoid driving or operating any machinery.

 Alcohol: It is advisable not to consume alcohol during the treatment of Ofrum-Oz tablets; it can impair your driving ability.

WARNINGS:

Talk to your doctor if You have any liver problem, diarrhea, joint pain, muscle pain, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis). DRUG INTERACTION:

Certain medicines can affect the way they work, or the Ofrum-Oz tablets themselves can affect the action of certain medicines when taken together. Medicines used to treat acidity (antacids), like Sucralfate and antacids containing calcium and magnesium, should be taken with a minimum gap of 2 hours with this medicine.

Certain painkillers, if taken along with this medicine, can lead to seizures, fits, and stimulation of brain activity. Medicines used to treat asthma or airway diseases (COPD), like theophylline, if taken alone, can lead to an increased risk of getting side effects. Concomitant use of the Ofrum-Oz tablets with blood thinners such as warfarin, which can increase the risk of bleeding, should be used cautiously.

Some medicines can affect the way Ofrum-Oz tablets work, or the Ofrum-Oz tablets themselves can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines simultaneously. Tell your doctor about all your medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions, especially if you are taking medicines to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, high/ abnormal cholesterol levels, blood thinners, anti-infectives, anti-diabetics, anti-asthmatics, painkillers, etc.
