DESCIPTION:

Each FLANEX TP tablets contains Aceclofenac 100 mg, Paracetamol 325 mg and Thiocolchicoside 4mg. FLANEX TP is a brand name for anti-inflammatory, analgesic n anti-pirated and muscle relaxant combination that suppresses the pain, swelling and relaxes the skeletal muscles associated with different types of inflammation. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (MSAID) that causes strong anti-inflammatory properties. Aceclofenac treats different types of arthritis namely osteo arthritis, rheumatoid-arthritis and gouty arthritis. This drug interferes with cyclo-oxygenase pathway and inhibits the production of prostaglandins and other inflammatory mediators from arachidonic acid. Reduced levels of prostaglandin are helpful in reducing the pain and inflammation

Paracetamol is a strong analgesic agent which works by increasing the threshold for pain. It reduces mild to moderate pain such a toothache, back pain, and nerve pain, fever, common cold etc. in the brain, paracetamol reduces the prostaglandin levels and reduces the pain. It also reduces the sensitivity of the pain receptors in the infected areas.

Thiocolchicoside is basically a muscle relaxant that causes anti-inflammatory and pain elevating properties too. This semi synthetic drug is derived from colchicine, a secondary metabolite expected from gloriosa superba. This drug causes glycol mimetic and GABA mimetic activity i.e it has high affinities for GABA receptors and inhibitory glycine receptors. In case of muscular contractors, Thiocolchicoside works by activating the GABA inhibitors and glycine inhibitory pathway and thereby acts as a potent muscle relaxant.
