DESCRIPTION:

Each NEXZITH-500 Tablets contains azithromycin, 500 mg. Azithromycin is an effective antibiotic drug that works by inhibiting the protein synthesis in bacteria. Azithromycin is semi-synthetic origin, belonging to the class of macrolides of aediles. Azithromycin has a structural similar to that of Erythromycin. Protein synthesis is a crucial biological function in bacteria, through which several components that are necessary for the survival of the bacteria are synthesized. Azithromycin binds to the 50S subunit of the 70S rivosome and eventually inhibits the translation of mRNA. Inhibition of protein synthesis eventually leads to the death of the bacterial cells.

• Acute exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases
• Cervicitis
• Chancroid
• Community Acquired Pneumonia
• Conjunctivitis
• Mycobacterium Avium Complex Infection
• Otitis media
• Pelvic inflammatory disease
• Upper respiratory tract infection
• Sexually Transmitted Diseases
• Moderate Typhoid
• Skin bacterial infection
• Urethritis

DOSES:

1 tablet for 5 days or as directed by the physician.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Azithromycin use is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to Azithromycin, Erythromycin and other macrolides antibiotics.

ADVERSE EFFECTS:

The adverse effects of Azithromycin include:

• Abdominal pain
• Headache and
• Rashes

PRECAUTIONS:

There are no sufficient and well controlled studies when it comes to Azithromycin administration in pregnant women and nursing mothers. Therefore, if you are a pregnant women or a  nursing mother, discuss with your doctor about your condition before taking this medicine.

NEXZITH-500 tablets are available in 5×10 in blister packing.

NEXZITH-500 tablets should taking carefully incase of abdominal pain and during pregnancy as well nursing.
