Each capsule contains Calcium Carbonate (sourced from oyster cells) 500 mg, Calcitriol i.e., B3 0.05 mcg and Zinc 7.5 mg

DESCRIPTION:

Calcimet-CT Soft Gelatin Capsules are well balanced mix of Calcium Carbonate, Vitamin D3 and Zinc. Calcium plays a very important role in the body. It is necessary to normalize nerves, cells, muscles and bones. If there is insufficient calcium in the blood, the body will take calcium from the bones, weakening the bones. Thus, intake of calcium is necessary to keep the bones strong. Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorous. The right amount of vitamin D3, calcium, and phosphorous are important for building and keeping strong bones. It is beneficial for pregnant women after 12 weeks of pregnancy for bone formation and the development of the baby. It is also used in osteoporosis and post-menopausal phase osteoporosis.

Zinc is a n essential element for all forms of life. Numerous aspects of cellular metabolism are zinc dependent. Zinc plays an important role in growth and development, the immune response, neurological functions and reproduction. On the cellular level the function of zinc can be divided into 3 categories

1. Catalytic
2. Structural
3. Regulatory

Nearly 100 different enzymes depend on zinc for their ability to catalyze vital chemical’s reaction. Zinc dependent enzymes can be found in all known classes of enzyme.

Zinc plays an important role in the structure of proteins and cell membranes. The structure and function of cell membrane are also affected by zinc. Loss of zinc from biological membrane increases their susceptibility to oxidative damage and impairs their function.

DOSE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Calcimet-CT soft gelatin capsules should be taken once in a day after lunch with a glass of water or as directed by the physician.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Calcimet-CT soft gelatin capsules are contraindicated in patients with hyper sensitivity towards, any of its ingredients and renal calculus, high urine calcium levels, elevated serum calcium, low serum phosphate, achlorhydria, or suspected digoxin toxicity. This medicine is also contraindicated in patients with hepatic and renal impairment, interstitial nephritis, congestive heart failure.

ADVERSE EFFECTS:

Constipation, gas, and burping may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, speak your doctor. Consult your doctor at the earliest, if you have any of the side effects including loss of appetite, nausea vomiting, unusual weight loss, bone/muscle pain, mental/mood changes (such as confusion), headache, increase thirst, frequent urination, unusual weakness, tiredness, sign of kidney problems, (changes in the amount of urine)

PRECAUTIONS:

There are no sufficient and well controlled studies when it comes to Calcium, Vitamin D3 and Zinc, or administration in pregnant women and nursing mothers. Therefore, if you are pregnant or nursing, discuss with your doctor about your condition before taking this medicine. If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication, such as high calcium level (hypercalcemia), stomach/ intestinal blockage, kidney diseases (such as kidney stones)

Some products many contain Aspartum. If you have Phenylketonuria (PKU) or any other condition that requires you to restrict your intake of Aspartum or phenyl Lainey, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
